Teaching Institute for Public Health of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County is a health institution that carries out public health activities in the area of PGŽ. Teaching Institute for Public Health of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County has an unbroken centuries-old tradition of existence and work, since it is a follower of the State Royal Station for Chemical Testing, which was founded on April 8, 1900. Today, it represents a professional, as well as teaching, preventive public health institution that is growing into a university scientific regional institute with the task of providing a higher level of public health care for the wider region which, in addition to Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, includes neighboring counties. Teaching Institute for Public Health of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County is a health institution owned by the County, and is one of the four leading Institutes for Public Health (along with Zagreb, Split and Osijek) in the Republic of Croatia. It operates independently at the county level, with the expert coordination of the state, HZZJZ. The institute has an integrated quality system that includes: HRN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017, HRN EN ISO 9001:2015, HRN EN ISO 14001:2015, HRN EN ISO 15189:2012, HRN EN ISO 45001:2018 and HRN EN ISO 50001: 2018
Activities
Public health activity includes epidemiological measures of control and intervention, monitoring and analysis of infectious and non-infectious diseases, public health microbiological activity, analysis of health indicators and work in health care, supervision of the healthiness of food, water and objects of general use, continuous monitoring of air quality, preventive and specific measures health care of school children and students and primary prevention and outpatient treatment of addiction diseases.
